Front end suspension making noises

Gar.

Okay, so I installed my OME coils/shocks a few weeks ago, and there was some minor noise coming from them when going over speed bumps.

The most noise comes from going say over a dip, and when the front end will abruptly drop down. It makes kind of like a cranking sound. Not too loud, it just sounds like the coil is expanding and makes almost like a squeeking sound.

I cant really explain what it sounds like....

Anyways, I just installed some 1" daystar spacers in the front to give it a little lift, and I still am hearing the same noises. I also am thinking that the swaybar bushings in the front are pretty much dead, and the swaybar is chunking too!!

What could cause the noises up front like that? What should I do to fix it?

I just fixed my sway bar bushigns today. And no more sounds for now. It sounds like somthing may be sticking in the suspension. Try greaing things up a little. When I uysed to work on imports. I used to place rubber rings under the coil and on top where every youd had contact areas. This was just to dampen any unnessicasry noise. sorry I cant spell to save my life

Well, yeah, the swaybars definetly need some extra padding.

But, what about the other noises...What do I do!?

Do the bushings first, try using the flat rubber rings to seperate the springs from the housings. I think its a tight fit and its sticking. Other than that hit everything with a good grease coat.

Are you SURE the noise is coming from the front end? The first time I heard a "creaking/clunking noise" after my OME lift I would have bet $5 that it was coming from the front. But, it was coming from the right rear.

It ended up being the top bolt loosening on the right rear shock. It'll creak/clunk over speedbumps, dips, just about anything... It starts out as a creaking and then as the nut gets looser it becomes a clunk.

The bad thing was that I ignored it long enough that the top bolt bent, and now I can't get the nut to tighten all the way down the threads. So I added a short stack of grade 8 washers in there to make up the difference, cranked on it, and it'll still loosen up over the course of about 2 months. In fact, it's loose again now.

Im like 99% sure its coming from the front.

What im scared about is that I just didn't get the lower shock eye aligned perfectly with the top three. I know it fit in there, and I got the bolt in there fine, but, Im thinking it could be that? I dont know. Its just bumming me out. I dont know what else to do.

I know everything is nice and tight...I really made sure everything was as tight as possible. I wodner if its too tight?

I would think after putting it in twice, I would have fixed it . Especially because yesterday I made sure everything was perfectly aligned before finishing up.

BTW-- Anyone use an impact wrench on the coil spring compressors? I did yesterday and it worked liek a charm. It probably cut my labor time in half.

Try greasing the near the bottom eye of the shock, it did help me getting rid of a speed bump squeak.
