Front end squeeking...only when coasting
Driving home today during the end of a 3 hour drive, I was coasting down a curvy hill for about 15 minutes.
I heard this squeaking, kinda like a chirping sound coming from the front passanger side wheel well.
Interesting note: Only when I had my foot OFF the acclerator did I hear it. Once I gave it gas, it went away. I put my car in nuetral for a few seconds, and it went away during that time.
So, I dont know exaclty how these automatic hubs work with the CV's...well, I know that they are spinning with the wheel, but, is ANY horsepower going into them even out of 4wheel drive?
What else could it be?

I got this for the first time this weekend. I went home and lifted the wheels off the ground and rotated everything. Nothing seemed to reproduce the noise. The only thing that sounded a little bit like it was the sound of the CV boot rubbing against itself. Once I lowered it back down I sprayed the boots with silicone spray and drove it down our hill. No noise.
To be honest, I have no idea if it was the CV boots or just coincedence....it doesn't make any noise now though.
as for the 4wheel drive, no hp or torque is applied when in 2wheel drive. The CV axles do rotate at all times though.
