Hey Fish, I had the exact same problem and it was the swaybar end links. They were decieving in that they looked normal upon inspection, but the inner ball joint was shot. A lot of people are going to tell you to take off the swaybar and see if you still get the noise. That's a good idea, but have you considered upgrading to an Addco? It makes a huge difference in handling, especially with a lift.
Good luck man!

i would say moog endlinks if you dont mind spending the extra cash def heavy duty and have grease fittings. i just changed mine out aslong as the bar bushings the other day with all energy suspension bushings handles alot better and drives alot smother just from those few things.

Slow down at the speedbumps to under 15 pmh or don't slow down at all like I do. My boys love it.
Mine does the exact same thing on my lifted Tundra. It's the sway bar links clunking on mine.

Okie, I hadn't considered upgrading the sway bar entirely. Do the Addco's come with new endlinks? (asking because you mentioned that was the prob on yours). My only hesitation on doing the upgraded swaybar would be that the front doesn't have alot of articulation to it as it is, and I'd hate to lose more due to a thicker swaybar. I guess I could do disconnects too....
Also... when disconnected from the swaybar, were you able to feel play in the inner joints on the endlinks?
Gotta love modifying a vehicle... uprgade one thing, then you find the next weakest link... so on and so on.

You do lose a little articulation. It's not too bad, but you might consider disconnects or other links as others have mentioned. This article talks a lot about that.

Updates?
I just got done installing a system 7.2...everything performs beautifully and I'm very impressed. But I'm having the exact same symptom. I get a "clunk" as the drivers side is uncompressing. It's noticeable on speed bumps and on moderately rough terrain.
Has anyone had success replacing the OEM sway bar links to solve the problem? I don't think I'm ready to go with the Adcco just yet if I don't need to. Thanks.

Not sure if this is applicable to your vehicle but lower control arm bushings
always look good.........till you shake the front wheel back and forth on a lift.
When I did (after hearing strange noises ) my eyes popped!!
If not......loose lower control arm centric bolts ??

i had the same noise but on the rear of my 4runner. It turns out it was the 2 bolts on each side that hold the chassis and the body together, theres a bushing that goes with those bolts and they were broken.
Maybe this helps hopefully...
