Frame surface rust
I'm getting some surface rust on my frame and trailer hitch area.
I've read some posts about POR-15, and I'm still researching that stuff.
I was just thinking that I'd scrape off any loose rust, sand it down a bit for a good scuff, and paint some flat black rustoleum on it.
Any thoughts?

your method would work just fine. POR-15 would be more durable but also more expensive, so up to you. definitely get that surface rust off though before it gets worse
