Frame cancer
Hey guys got a question....a while back I was thinking about selling my rig...but I just love my truck and decided not to get rid of it....But I have a concern...My frame is waisting away....what do I do? Do I have it patched and fixed or do I try and find a good used frame and spend the time to swap everything over? It's really bad in the rear above the axle....the whole section needs to be redone....I know it can be done and I found someone that will do it.....I don't know.......any suggestions?
Thanks guys

hmmm pretty tough choice. you have to decide if the cancer is milignate or not. you can always cut out peices and weld in thick gauge steel if the holes arent that big just to save the rest of the frame. Thats if you can spend the money to get a welder/ get it welded professionally. If the rust is eating too much you might have to replace the rails, which is a huge hassle and expense in which you are better off selling it. I recently purchased a runner and i threw it on a lift at work and sanded and scraped rust off everything and undercoated the body with about 4 cans of , yes you guessed it, "undercoating" from autozone. So i tried to kill my frame/body rusting before it turns into a problem.
Good luck, tell me what happends. I want to know how she turns out.
