Question fog lights vs. driving lights

I have been working on the lighting for my truck, trying to get it ready for some trails at night. I bought new headlights(sylvania silverstar bulbs) and they put out really nice. I love the pure white color these bulbs put out, I was never to crazy about those "cool blue" bulbs. Anyways, I was checking on fog lights, but was curious, what exactly is the difference between fog lights and driving lights, and what conditions do each one come in more handy. If anyone could shed some "light" on my question, I would appreciate it.

Fogs=wide, short beam
Driving=a little longer and wider than stock

Look here for a simplified diagram.

Um, fog lights are used for just that. For fog, lower placement is key. I don't get fog for where I'm at, but I have them to light up the trail immediately in front of me.

Driving lights are often used in conjunction with high beams but providing better illumination over stock.

Thanks For The Info.

Hey Darren,

Thanks for answering my question. I just need to look around a few places near where I live and get a good idea of which bulb would be most useful. I might check on the fog/driving combination lights, but we will see, thank you for your help. I will tell you when I get something figured out.
