fog light switch

Does anyone know why the fog light switch from Performance Products and the one from Toyota vary so much in price? And what kind of vehicle does the Performance Product switch come out of?

I don't know.

I got my toyota foglight switch for about $13 from the stealership. I am using it to control a power converter dc to ac. Also, i purchased another one (fog light switch) and i use it to operate my after market foglights.

What do the toyota ones look like? And are they for certain year models?

Typically, they look like in the attached picture, however, in my 93 they are installed horizontally. Also, there are ones that have a square led instead of a round one, but I think those are out of production.

And as far as I know, these switches are all standard to they'll fit in almost any year; but don't take my word for it. I konw i'm using the kind that are pictured in the attachment and they fit perfectly in my 93; i think they were intended for a 98 or something though.

Yeah I've got a lighting kit for my hella's but they supply a nasty green light switch. I am looking more for a toggle switch like in airplanes, only with an LED on the end of it. I am pretty sure autozone has them, I just haven't had the time or effort to get it, seeing as how my last few "mods" haven't worked in the end, I don't want to fubar my electrical system.

The Toyota ones seem like they are made of a dull plastic, while the one from Performance looks like a glossy plastic which would fit with the other switches in my unit. What years and vehicles came with factory fog lights?

Free swtich samples

I know everyone is fond of the Toyota OE swiches but lots of you guys have TONS of devices that might need switches so I thought I would share a sweet place to get a TON of different switches.

The company is called NKK Switches, here is thier website, http://www.nkkswitches.com/ , They are a regular switch manufactioror so most aren't for 12 volt auto applications with out some engineering. I use mine with relays and all that, but man do they have a selection of sweet styles and shapes, color back lights, blah blah. If your looking to do something totally custom and want some sweet switches, check out thier site.

The coolest thing is that they will send you 3 switches of your configuration for free, and a copy of thier 667 page catalog!

Just some food for thought.

Or if you have ARB switches and like that look, you can add to those with the same model from Waytek. Look under swtiches and select "Contura Rocker"

2004 Tundra Foglight Switch

Ok guys, i finally found and installed a pair of oem foglights! These are the new roundish lens instead of the rectangular ones in previous years. (200-2003 ??) The lamps are installed and connected to the harness but i have a problem with adding the switch and a relay (if needed). I openned the panel under the steering wheel and to the left there are three different female jacks. im not sure which one is for the foglights! I called the dealer and they said that theres a specific switch that mounts onto the stick where u turn your lights on and off. But it costs $140!!! plus he said i needed a relay which costs $60!! Well i was thinking of buying a switch and a relay from radio shack and splicing the wires for the oem switch. ANYONE HAS ANY INFO ???? please reply THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
