Foamy Diff Oil ???
Hi there.
I just checked my front differential oil and it was foamy. Not water induced foam, but air bubbles. It was also about 8 oz. overfilled.
I changed the front differential oil last week and the truck must have been on an angle when I did it. The old oil looked like new.
Question is, do you think the foam/bubbles was caused by being overfilled?
thanks

hey marc!
problem should have corrected itself as soon as you removed the fill plug! i didnt think diff fluid was thin enough to 'foam up'. learn something new every day.

Lee, I guess it fixed itself as I let it drain until it stopped flowing from the fill plug.
I'm using semi-synthetic 75W90 so that might have something to do with it.
