Ive got a 2000 4Runner 3.4 liter and am looking to buy a Flowmaster muffler. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with these, etc.

From what I was told about the Flowmasters, the loudness of it depends on what series you get. The 40 Series (which is what a lot of people go with) is the loudest. The 50 Series (SUV/Truck or something if I remember right) is slightly louder than stock, and supposedly (according to the exhaust shop I talked to, who sells mainly Flowmaster) will give you better gas mileage. They're also more than say a Dynomax or a Magnaflow. I personally went with a Magnaflow on my '91 4Runner because I had listened to what it sounded like on Corey's '91 4Runner, and I really liked it.

When it comes time to get an exhaust system for my new Xterra (I want to do it soon, but I'm probably going to wait a while) I'm thinking about getting a Dynomax, or another Magnaflow. But I might go with something a bit quieter than the Magnaflow, so that's why I'm thinking about a Dynomax, or possibly even a Flowmaster 50 Series.

Hopefully I was able to help.

Try to listen to a delta flow flowmaster 50. it is a good one and not too loud, if that is a major concern of yours.

Well....After talking with Galen and hearing your comments, Ive decided to get....no muffler. Well, not yet atleast. Instead, I just ordered the pedals and will be ordering the roof rack seen below tonight. The muffler will have to wait another few weeks.

flowmaster

I have flowmaster exhaust on my 94 3.0 yota truck and it sounds great! I have also gutted the catalytic converter which gave it an even better sound and made it noticably louder. Now I am just trying to figure out something to do to make it even louder than it is now
