hey jim!
i borrowed one from a friend, it required drilling a hole in the end of each frame rail to attach the brackets. they are quick disco, you dont have to keep the tow bar attached all the time. when you need it, you clip it in and lock the pins and youre off to the races. i think it was one manufactured by one of the hitch companies.

Jim,
My truck has a tow bar that was on it when I got it. The bar mounts where the tow hooks would normaly go. I think the previous owner towed it behind an RV.
Good luck!

nmtoy, how does it actually mount to where the towhooks are? i have a towbar from my old truck that i never used, but want to put it on this truck jsut to have..... the way it would mounts to the way the bar i have is, doesnt look like it would be able to fit... its liek a C channel, but the open side faces the tow ball, not being able to mount that part on the frame

Sorry, I should be more clear. I don't actually have the tow bar, just the mount for it attached to the frame. The mounts have about a 1/2" hole for the actual towbar and they stick out about 3-4 inches in front of the truck on each side where the tow hook(s) used to be. I am going to remove it as soon as I have time. Sorry about the confusion, I would post a pic but don't have a digital camera.
