Flashing O/D OFF light
Has anyone experienced the Overdrive off light flashing, car performs and drives normally. Local UK Toyota dealer has no idea due to car being a Japanese import. The car is 1994 SSRG 3.0 TD Auto. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate them.

I believe that is caused by one of the three solenoids in the transmission going bad. Never had to fix it myself, but search for "solenoid" and "transmission" or similar on this site and you should get some good info.

Go under the truck, get a bright flashlight (I prefer Maglite) and inspect for loose electrical connector around the transmission, make sure all connectors are tight and clean. Check all wirings to ensure they are not frayed, cut, or stripped. Is there any dealer in UK that has a On Board Diagnostic reader?

It could be one of the four solenoids in the tranny. I just did one on mine. It threw a code 62 and turned out the #1 solenoid would work intermittantly when warm. Pretty easy to change them out. Just watch out for the shower of tranny fluid from the filter when undoing the last few bolts. You can reuse the filter, just back flush it with brake fluid. Pull the codes and have at her.
