flares and factory running boards

I was wondering if you can fit the end caps for the 3rd gen running boards on 2nd gen ones. I just bought bushwackers and I'm not sure how I want to install them. I want the clean look of the 3rd gen factory flares.

You are going to have a tough time getting the kind of look a 3rd Gen has with your runningboards. About the only alternative I have seen is what Chris Steger did and used the endcaps off a 95 Truck for his runningboards. Here's the finished product There's a link to his homepage in the readers rigs section if you want more info on his truck. Very clean 2nd Gen he has!
