well my missfire ended being a bad valve so with 212k miles on it I am contenplating the $2k to have the valve grind job vs possbily replacing the engine. Concerns with the valve grind are increasing the compression of the upper end, putting more strss on the more worn lower bearings. I know the replacement of a salvaged motor is less (parts) than the grind job but with labor its about double.

any similar experinces ?

any thoughts out there?
