FIPK install

I just installed my FIPK that I purchased from NCSU-4Runner (7M-GTE swap in progress) for about half price of retail. It was kind of a PIA, but the kit works well, and it's really sturdy.

Man, that thing is loud! With the windows down, I can barely hear my headers and loud exhaust over it. Reminds me of flipping the lid on a 4-barrel, and romping on it. I felt like a giddy teenager for a moment....

If it made a difference, it's definetly at the top end. Took it for a test spin, and it revs quicker (and gets progressively louder) from 3500 up to redline.

As far as wheeling/water intrusion, I like this tip from 4x4Lamm:

"My open element K&N on my 92 4runner did seem to suck in alot of water this one time I blew threw a swamp at 35. I got to thinking and I cut a milk jug in half top to bottem and when I know I'm gonna get wet, I secure it with a few HD rubber bands around the intake. Cheap, easy and It worked! Other than crazy fast dives into water you just cant get enough water in it to stall or hydrolic the engine. If the water is sitting up at that level, the distributor is an inch away from getting soaked so you got problems anyway. I did notice a difference in HP when I put it on (about 6.5?) Performance Products Catalog has a nice graph, and I love the sound so I'll keep mine."

Alright, back to school (UOP Online) half of my loser team members didn't submit anything for our team paper, so I have to finish it and post, but they'll hear about it. (Plus, we get to critique each other at the end, which affects our grade)

I like the sound of my intake mods as well. I noticed a big difference when I did the ISR mod.
