Finally painted my chrome bumper
I've been reading every thread i could find on how to paint my chrome rear bumper and this weekend i finally did it. If anyone decides to do it, i think its really worth it. I've been planning on getting rid of the chrome forever and now my runner is all black. I'm impressed with how it came out and it was way worth it.
Heres some pics of before, during, and after. http://community.webshots.com/album/357175383ijDDDf

I chopped the tip off today, I had never moved it up from the body lift so thats y it chills so low. I think i'm gonna paint the wheels next weekend, i'm just trying to figure out what kind of paint i should use and whether or not I should leave the beadlock chrome. I think it will end up pretty nice

For those of you going the black route, please take note: Be sure to wear proper respiration when sanding chrome!
There is some nasty stuff in there. And I am not talking about a "comfort mask," I am talking about a full blown organic vapor mask with replaceable cartridges! Take care of yourself first. You really do not need to remove all the chrome like Outlaw did. You can just rough up the surface and use a good primer. It will be fine. I have been running mine for one year with no problems. Personally, I would just go with anodized black lugs or leave them chrome. As for the wheels, they have held up great! |
