Finally Lifted 2001 4 Runner Limited 4 X 4

Finally got the suspension fixed on my 4runner.
Up front OME 881 with OME 90004 nitrocharger sports.
In back OME 890 with OME N86 comfort shocks.
Alignment will be done tomorrow morning. Sorry for no measurements B & A It's snowing out and everything is a little sloppy. A rough guess was about 3 1/4" up front and 4 1/2" in back, I was resting on the bumpstops in the back. At least I have pictures. The first 2 are before with 31" snow tires(264 and 266), the next 3 are after with stock 32" FJ wheels and tires (268 the other 2 in the next post). So far I'm loving the combo. The main motivator for the rear comfort shock is that 95% of the time I will be driving with my 14mo old son in the back.

Thanks, I scored those for a steal on craigslist last year; wheels, tires and lugs for $475, only 25 miles on them.

Love it! I bought virtually the same lift (I went with the HD rear springs due to camping box and subwoofer in the rear. but it is still sitting in the back of my runner. I just haven't had the time and a babysitter for my girls yet.

Still using stock panhard bar? If so, how far off-center are you guys seeing your rear axles with these lifts?

I have a lift picked out and I'm holding out till work picks up some.... I don't know how much longer I can hold off. I was under my Runner last night and I can see my bumpstops are bottoming out with normal road driving... I can't imagine how it would ride loaded down with camping gear and being up in the mountains...

Here is the 4runner loaded down for a trip after the lift. The roof box was full as well.

Not bad at all. I like how it sits. I'm trying to get out for the weekend and I'll be laughing (more like crying) at how saggy my backend will be...

psraff,
I just have the stock Panhard Bar. I don't know if I'm off center. When I had my alignment done, the tech said this is the first truck he has ever done that came out perfect and to spec. He does a ton of Tacomas and 4runners, so I guess I'm fine.
The 4runner drove amazing on our little trip from Golden to GJ, without adjusting for the 32" tires mileage was at 20.6 mpg. Before the lift I would get about 21.5 loaded down. I'll correct for the tires and see where that puts me.

I kinda regret buying the Adjustable panhard bar when I lifted my runner. The stock one was only 1/8" shorter than where the adj. one is now. And the damn locking collars wont stay put!
I love the OME coils and shocks - I had about 400 pounds of landscaping bricks in the back of it and it squatted down maybe an inch. The tires though, they were a little bulgy.

I'm not going to worry about the panhard bar. I bought the lift from Slee Off-road and they did not recommend anything other than the lift. I trust the guys there a ton and if they say I don't need it, then I don't.

I'll buy it off you if you really don't want it, I'm going LC coils and that panhard bar is the only thing holdin me up!

Interesting... If I ever get my lift, I planned on getting the LC Coil lift. But I might have to rethink that setup a bit. I see more and more people getting OME lifts now. And I see TRDParts4You have two different "kits" now of OME.

I think the LC rear end lift is the way to go if you need a lot of flex. I can see the need for the adjustable trac bar at that point. The OME kits I think are more geared for cargo capacity increase and you get a nice lift as a side effect. I am very pleased with the amount of lift I got from the OME rear set up, and up front I have the TRD / Bilstein so its nice and level.

Mauzer - I might consider it. I will see if I can track down a factory bar and PM you.
