Finally - Alignment correct
Alignment is finally straightened out, true and straight on my 98 4runner with saws up front 2" and ome 891's 3" rear.
For anyone in the Los Angeles area who cannot get their alignment straight, the shop i went to "Bagge and Son" on 10417 Washington Blvd in culver city knows their alignment. This shop has been around since 1920, and all the auto body shops use them to straighten out alignments on cars that have been smashed, rolled, you name it, they make em drive straight again. As soon as they put it on the lift, they checked the specs that discount tires had adjusted it to which were soo off it would make you cry.
Anyway, they spent 1 full hour adjusting the toe in/out, camber and caster and i cannot believe how nice it is to drive now - dead straight and even when pulling out of corners it comes dead center. Props to shops who do things right.

Yeah I hear you. I couldn't find a good alignment shop for a LONG time. Finally found one in Visalia, unfortunately thats a 7+ hour drive from here.

I understand your frustration, j-man. Unfortunately, I haven't found a shop yet that's fixed my alignment issue. I've tried a few different places (including the dealership) and it's never quite right. The pull I was experiencing may be gone but my steering wheel is always slighly off center and always to the right. Maddening.
I think I may have bent something that inhibits the proper adjustments. Being no mechanic, I've told shops to look for problems and they all say they don't see anything and that's it's aligned properly. Alas, it is not.
One day, someone will figure it out. Until then, it's a wide goose chase finding that shop. Glad you got yours worked out.

It would be realy nice to find a shop like that in CO since i'll be heading to one with both my vehicles soon...one for a drop and the other for a lift.

It was $76.00 for the alignment, and i had them replace the clips on my inner cv boots - seems they worked loose after i lifted the front so add another $30.00.
Also the alignment is covered for 1 year, or 12k miles. And they stand behind it too, the owner said come by on your 11th month just to check it out - but im sure ill have to re-align it ever 6 mos to a year for all the driving i do in baja now. Baja works everything loose.

My buddy is up in clairmont and he found a place close by him that got his tacoma with saws up front straight, his bfg at's are wearing even as well after 30k miles - which is a hard thing to do with them.
I can only imagine what the alignment shop said when you rolled up - if thats your truck in your sig - they probably said it would never get straight. Visalia is a haul....

do u guys know of any general franchises that have warranties on their alignments? like 1 year or so many miles... kinda thing. i know that some people take it in often just to make sure to re-align if their truck has fell out of alignment.

For anyone in the Bay Area or Nor Cal in general, go to Seever and Sons in Pleasanton. I drove all the way from Reno to get my rig aligned there, the shops in Reno, just don't cut it.

Hey guys. I'm having a caster issue.
I was wheeling a while back and hit a bad hole pretty hard. It threw everything out and the wheel was completely cocked out on the driver side. I got under there and replaced the tie rod adjustment sleeves. I lined it up pretty well. The toe is perfect. The camber looks great by eyeballing it. I've had perfect tire wear the past six months, but the truck always pulls to the left.
My issue is with the caster. I can see pretty clearly that there's about a 2" difference from one side to the other and that the driverside is pushed back farther then the pass side. I'm betting that that's the reason for the pulling to the left.
My question is, does anyone have links to pictures or videos that point out the bolts and adjustments for caster on this truck?

I'm pretty sure that caster is done thru the 4 lower control arm cam bolts. I just pulled my LCAs so I could do some work on them. One came off with no problems. The other had a seized cam bolt. I had to air chisel the ends off and then press it out. I used to hear "we got it as close as we could" now I know why. They couldn't get it right because they couldn't move that one cam.
