Experiences with Downey exhaust?

Help, I'm looking for some input on the Downey exhaust, specifically part #17484 on their website. The following link will take you to that page.

http://www.downeyoff-road.com/Engine...xhaustSys.html

I hear everyone discussing flowmaster and magnaflow. I'm just looking for a comparisson of cost, performance, sound and value. My current situation is that I need CA legal exhaust for my "91 4x4 Pickup w/the 3vze v6 (aka 3.sl0W)". Currently their is a hollowed out cat to flowmaster (not sure the series) all connected w 2.25" piping. Exhaust is leaking, cracked pipes, and smog inspections are saying , Please help.

Next upgrade or possibly at the same time are some headers. I was also looking at the Downey offering for those also. Any info?

Thanks and one day I hope to be able to help the new guys here they way YotaTech loyalists have helped me so far.

Thanks for the input. I'm looking into their headers pretty seriously and I did hear that about their install process.

Now anyone know about their exhaust?

The Downey Muffer is an unbranded magnaflow. I think the downey exh system is a fine system. mandrel bent pipe and a good muffler is all you need and downey has them both. Dont wast your money on flowmaster unless you like a noisy as hell lack of performance. Dynomax is also another good brand of muffler but Im not sure if thay make a complete exhaust for the vehicle you need.

I have the entire Downey exhaust system, headers, and cat-back. I am very pleased with the system, except for the hangers. I am still trying to fab some that will work. However, the 2.5 inch pipe gives a nice look, as well as a very minor power increase. When i bought the truck i had a hole the size of a golfball in my header, as well as missing half the rest of the system. I went with downey, and I am well pleased with the slight boost in power for crusing on the highway, and am also pleased with where it came out the back of my runner. I no longer have to worry about catching the pipe on rocks, as the pipe sits just behind the mudflap.
Beware the noise though. It sounds kinda bad, almost kinda ricey, so if you're willing to deal with that, its great.
