Exhaust? Yes i searched!

Im gonna get the vortex from Jason and i was trying to think of the best idea for a new tailpipe, like where to have it exit, and other things. I was curious what are the advantages and disadvantages for just doing a turn down right after the muffler. Will this make it any louder??

Turndown is much louder than side exit. I did it because my pipe was all rusty and I wanted to use my new sawzall.

If you drive with your rear window cracked like I do all the time a turn down will fill you up with fumes real quick. If you want a little more rumble do a side exit right in front of the rear tire. I would stay away from dumping your exhaust out from under the truck.. Anybody remember the exhaust fume and rear window thread?

Weird... I have a very good sense of smell, and I've never smelled fumes in my truck before with my turndown pipe.

on my 22re i have 2.25in piping all the way back from the cat. I also had a 3 in tip, but it was vulnerable to trail damage, and kept getting hit by stuff and dented, then the hanger failed!! So I just got them to weld on a turndown after the muffler, and now it sounds good, not to loud, but def louder at low rpms!! I like it better with the turndown, plus it looks better!!

Seems to be really popular with the diesel performance/show trucks here. Would look and be so retarded on a 4cyl or 6cyl truck.
