engine swapping
If I were to swap a 22re for a 22re if i need to replace the engine, what tools would be required and what kind of timeframe should i be looking at? I would have the help of maybe one other person.

its pretty simple, i did a straight 22r to 22r swap... both engiens were pretty complete though... you need a good socket set and all types of wobblies and extensions....
as far as timeframe goes, probably a day, if you know what you are doing..... and thats if both engines are complete... longer if you have to piece parts togetehr from the engines....
not sure where you live, but, here in CA it is illegal without going to see a smog referee after its done....
i did mine, and never went to see a smog ref... and hte new engine passed smog recently

you'll need a halfway decent tool set(for the swap, the most common sizes you'll encounter are 12, 14, 15 and 19mm), and some long wobble extensions and u-joints are a big help when dealing with the 2 upper bellhousing bolts on the tranny.
all depends on how long it takes you to disconnect the radiator hoses and all the wiring and such, it's also a good time to put in a new clutch and replace the front or rear main seals if they're oozing some oil. if the engines are complete and ready to go, i can do this job in a day.

i thought the bellhousing bolts were 15? at least i'm pretty sure they were on mine, 17mm wouldn't fit in the tight space on the lower mounts.
not much 10mm stuff on mine on the engine either, unless i feel like messing witht the timing cover
