Engine Stuttering Badly

Here's some background info, I bought this 4runner, 203,000 miles runs like new, well taken care of, and pinged a bit because of the supercharger. I put some NGK 2 steps colder single electrode spark plugs(gapped a bit) and the pinging situation got a little better. So randomly I start up my car start driving and under heavy load on low rpms it studders, so I adapt my driving style and shift higher and go easy on the gas. Now it has gotten totally ridculous, Idle misfires, Studders like hell at anything lower than 3000 rpm under load. I'm afraid to press full gas. What could it be, spark plugs, fuel filter? Please help this is my daily driver and I need to drive to work. I don't drive the crap out of my car, I drive calmly and shift at 1800 rpm before this happened. I have installed a TMC 1.1 thinking it would cure it but no. Also the problem gets worse once the motor warms up.

sounds like your motor is going bad. the first sign is the detonation, ping as you call it, is not good for your motor. More chances of detonation when it heats up.

can you get a compression test on all the chambers?

Why would the motor jst go bad all of a sudden, It ran perfect the day before, wouldn't it smoke first?

It also only happens under load, I depress the clutch and the motor revs fine, could plug wires be the problem?

that is true but by the limited info given, that was my assumption. However that detonation of yours must be richen up to a right a/f ratio. Im not sure how the ppl here do it but thats the first thing you need to be concerned.

yes a bad sparkplug wires can cause it to misfire. use ohmmeter to test the wires out. if FSM needed, use the search button.

Get your timing checked. If the plugs are firing to soon or too late this can happen.

Actually check engine light is not on, I'm going to try resetting the computer today and see if that helps. THe check engine light was on once about a week ago but went away after an hour. Odd huh.

just because the cel came on and went away, doesnt mean its gone. It probably just stored the code because it didnt see the problem reoccure. Go to your nearest checker/autozone w/e you got around there and ask them to check the codes. dont reset the ecu just yet.

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be bad sparkplug wires and a bad sparkplug. the wires were arching and the sparkplug had a chunk of the porceline broken causin it to arch there too.

Good job fixing that.
do you have the 3.4 Litre if so it calls for the "duel" electrode plugs only, i think its a timing thing.
Glad to hear what was causing the issue.
if your using single electrodes, at some point you may want to try new denso or NGK's duel electrode plugs and then try new plug wires. at over 200K it may be the plug wires are somewhat aged and may also be start to have high resistnce levels.

The problem is I have a supercharger and I need to run 2 step colder plugs. Oreillys doesn't sell 2 steps colder dual electrode plugs.
