My engine check light recently popped on consistently at 1/2 a tank >=0. Here are my symptoms:My 2.7 has never really moved at all. When you mash it in 1st gear it barely moves. With the back window down you can really smell the exhaust. It smells like the cat isnt working. It is a 96 and has 168,000 miles on it.I changed the EGR filter which was moderately dirty. Lately I have also been pondering an engine swap. Would a 5VZ have the same engine mounts?Or would it even be worth it to swap and engine out that only has 32 or so more HP. Could the 4runner ever accomodate an engine such as the 2jz ge or gte.It almost seems that with the power im getting its become a safety issue.
