end all the MPG B.S. get this [or similar] or
just get one of these, and you can figure it out exactly
www.scangauge.com
----------------------------------------------
how to I drive to save gas ?
how much gas does this pig drink ?
what are my MIL light for doing to me ?
there are other types of gauges you can buy, but bang-for-buck
this thing is awesome
and you can quit guessing. this ends all the BS stories and you
can figure out HOW to actually get 22.5 or even 23mpg from a 3rd
gen 3.4 by adjusting the nut behind the wheel
you can also figure out that.... that power-tower or dumb mod
I heard about on the internets and sounds loud
is 100% crap and you should have stayed with stock
I have 4 gauges always up.
avg-mpg per tank (this is a custom x-gauge)
current 2-second mpg
current mph
distance to empty
--------------------------------
what this thing taught me is, by driving an extra 2.5 miles to work which avoids
a few hills I can bring my commute miles-per-gallon up from 15.4 to 17.2...yes... by
adding a few miles, I have an overall gain and my distance-to-empty increases by
60 miles. net gain 40 miles a tank after subtracting those 2.5 miles a day, just by
knowing which hills to avoid.

Hey McFalls, good post. I received one of these for a valentines day present and it has deffinetly effected my MPGs in a good way. I've tried to pitch the device to the people I work with but no one seams to understand. Glad I'm not the only one whose seeing positive numbers with the scangauge. Did you get the x-gauge codes out of the manual? I was going to mess around a little bit with the x-guages but never got around to it.
