Electronic/Cable Speedo Questions

A question to the good people of yotatech: my 93 pickup has the crappy 3-gauge cluster, with an electronic speedo. Wanting to upgrade, I found an SR5 cluster for 30 bucks on Ebay. Sweet! Now, I SPECIFICALLY asked the dude if the speedo was electronic or cable, and he said it is electronic. So I jumped on the deal. Well today I recieved the part only to find out the speedo is cable driven . I put it in anyway just to see if the SR5 gagues would work with my wiring harness, and of course it did, except for the speedo, obviously. This only took me 30 minutes, not hard at all, thanks to some of the tech write-ups on yotatech . Now, is it possible to convert the new cluster's speedo to be electronic-driven, or do I just need to send it back and get another one? I'm afraid it's going to be rather hard to find a cluster with the speedo I need  . Also, could I switch the electronic unit on my t-case out and put in the unit for a cable speedo and then get a whole new cable? I'm just trying to find a way to make this thing work, as I am sick of having the crappy gauges. Oh, by the way, do yall want me to do a write-up when I actually have something that will work in place of my old gauges? I know there are a few already, but I'd be glad to do one! Thanks!

A few options, get the speedo cable and gear and plug that into the t-case or swap the e-speedo into the new cluster.

Will the new cluster run an electronic speedo if it was originally cable? I reall hope so, that would be sweet.

Only way to tell it set both side by side and see if the speedos are the same. They are usually a separate unit installed into the cluster. The other advantage of swapping speedos is that you retain your odometer reading. Here's a writeup I did for a VW speedo swap:
