Question electrical gremlin

My 1997 4-Runner has an odd electrical problem. With the brake pedal pressed the left turn signal, when used, starts to click and flash very quickly. If you release the brake, the left turn signal goes back to normal speed. What is burning up? Thanks

It turned out to be a burnt front driver's side turn signal bulb! FYI

thanks

I'm having a similar problem.......but the weird thing is, is all my lights work........I have brake lights, tail lights and blinkers they all work.......till I have the blinker on and then hit the brakes.......then the brakes light up and the blinker stops blinking and stays on in the front and you get the usual noise that would be associated with a burnt out bulb........I do have different LED's in the rear, I've had them for at least 4 years and they worked fine....till I broke one and replaced it......I put it back the exact same way I originally had, but now have this problem. I even thought maybe the manufacture changed the way the light is wired inside.....but no it's exactly the same. I went through the whole back wiring with a test light and all seams to be fine........I just don't get it.

Try going back to cheap regular bulbs and see if your problem goes away. Then you will know of you have a wiring issue or if it is the LEDS.

Do we have flashers? and if we do, maybe depending on where they are located in the lighting power circuit they can act funny under a voltage drop, ie brake lights/blinkers/other power drain
(IF they are going bad, as ive had some in other cars progressively go bad)

under this same irregular voltage idea, maybe replaced bulbs with different ratings could make them act weird.
when my sisters alt went bad and drained her battery while driving all her indicator lights and accessories went haywire because they were underloaded.

I know these are total shots in the dark, but electrical can sometimes be a combo of totally random things. so theres some ideas.

have fun

Can't, it's not led bulbs and not anywhere near stock or stock like, I know it's not the led's it's somewhere in the wiring
