Dyno'ed the 22re!!! part 2
Hello All
Thought some would get a kick out of this.
Last night after we got the software installed we made a couple fun runs.
93 pickup 22re 4x4 w/ Manual tranny.
81.02 hp at 5000rpm's
104.11 tq at 3000 rpm's
Tq jumped to 100 ft/lbs at 2200 rpms and stayed there only going up a little at the 3000 mark all the way to 4300 rpms (30-63 mph) where it slowly slid off while the hp came up.
Modds to the truck for power/loss of power are:
15x10 rims w/ 32x11.50 BFG A/T's(wrong gears in rear?)
Flex-a-lite fan conversion
2.25 crimp bend exhaust w/ glass pack and high flow cat
K&N drop in filter
Was done in 3rd gear w/ 32x11.50 R15's w/ the wrong gear in the back.
(Don't know what gears in there. Brother blew up rear before I bought it and threw in another pumpkin not knowing that it was a different gear from the front. Which = no 4x4 untill corrected)
Not to bad I guess for 228,000 miles on the motor.
I'll try to get it scanned up here if I can.
C-YA!!

That is very interesting. I have a 94 4x4 with 22re. Mod's include K&N filter,LC engineering header and complete exhuast, new Head with bigger cam and valves. Tires are 31x 10.50, gears are 4:10's.
What software did you use? where did you get it how much does it cost.
I would really like to see my numbers. It would have been nice to have a before and after comparison but to late for that now. I am not taking that head off : )
Let me know on the software.
Thanks

Hello Buck01
It's a Dyno jet dyno running off of WIN PEP 7.
Cost on just the Dyno alone is 45,000 or so. Then we made ramps and platforms out of steal (2,400lbs worth) + a 10ft wal, etc.
Hope this help

Don't know what to tell ya man but, all dyno pulls made in this area are done in 3rd for 5 speed and 4th for a 6 speed. Unless the car makes to much power for the dyno to hold.
Bosses car had to make 4th gear pulls to get good #'s. Other wise he'd just spin tires.
565 hp to the wheels in a civic HB has those probblems I guess.
I'll never have to worry about that.
That's more power than I'll ever need.

Again, not to be an ass, but that shop doesnt know what its talking about. Ask another dyno shop which gear for which tranny.

Third gear in 5 speeds is not 1:1. That would be 4th gear in 5 speed overdrive transmissions. Third gear on my truck is 1.384:1
For my truck with W56:
For my truck with W56:
- Reverse-4.091:1
- First-3.954:1
- Second-2.141:1
- Third-1.384:1
- Fourth-1:1
- Fifth-0.85:1

I thought you used a laptop and software when you dyno'ed it. Didn't realize you went to an actual dyno shop.
I still think it would be interesting to see actual numbers for adding the k&N filter.
then another run after adding the header, then the cat and exhaust, the new head.
Just to get actual number to see if they perform as advertised.
I know dreaming huh?
Thanks for sharing your info.

Your'e funny man.
I don't know which gear for blah, blah etc. It was fun runs
(from above w/ high lites)
Don't know what to tell ya man but, all dyno pulls made in this "area" (6 dyno's in 30 mile radius) are done in 3rd for 5 speed and 4th for a 6 speed. Unless the car makes to much power for the dyno to hold in that gear.
I posted this up for those to enjoy not to spat w/ you about which gear is what..
Look at the bottom of my post and click the link. We are the oldest/best import shop in the area Period.
Don't know what else to tell ya.

Hello Buck01
I work at Millennium so it's nothing but pulling up on the dyno and letting it rip.

Well, if you enjoy going to a dyno who rips you off and doesnt know their way around a car, then so be it.
