Dual Exhaust
What's a good dual exhaust system that is relatively cheap? I'm not looking for SUPER loud...just something to give it a little more roar and some good looking tips would be a nice accent too! Thanks guys! THIS BOARD ROCKS!

i read in your sig that you have a 2nd gen runner. to my knowledge, its not really possible to have dual exhaust with our rigs, or atleast i dont think it has been done before. i think i remember the reason being that there is simply not enough room with the spare tire mounted underneath, along with other things under there. could be wrong though. i have a dynomax super turbo muffler that sounds pretty deep, but is not too loud. a resource that you might wanna check out is Corey's exhaust page good luck!. i hope i helped ya out man!

Deep is the word I was looking for before! It sounds like you have what I want! How much and where did you get it?
Thanks man, you were definately a big help!
But if anybody has any input on the Dynomax or something better..you are MORE than welcome to give me some more ideas!

Borla. Get a universal muffler and have a local shop install if in your rig. My dual-Borla exhaust ended up costing me $230 from a local shop for everything.

You will also find a bunch of mpeg video revving the exhaust.

prolax: do you have a 2nd Gen.? Cause Doink just said that they don't have any dual setups for the 2nd gens...I think I might go with the Dynomax super turbo...sounds pretty good. All I want is something that's deep. Thanks guys...I'll let ya know if/when I get it up until then keep the suggestions coming!
Thx. again!

I searched on summit and found a buttload of stuff...here is one of the cheaper ones.
Go on summit and put this in the part number space and see if this is yours or not - WLK-17676 - if not...can you find it and gimme the part #, I'm not too car smart when it comes to modding(if you want specs on any car ask me! but not parts!) Sorry to bug you...thanks man!

alright man, i found the part number for the muffler i got. heh, hopefully they didnt change things around... its WLK-17747. when i got it, it cost 39.95, now its up about 3 bux, which still isnt too bad. if you are looking for a super loud tone...dont get this muffler. its definatly deeper than stock, and a bit louder, but not something you can hear from a quarter mile away.

If you want loud, the Dynomax is a more "quiet" muffler, quieter than my Magnaflow.
Talk to Jason about the Vortex.
Listen to the samples on my exhaust site and look for the 3 Vortex:
Jason 3rd gen 4Runner
Adam 3rd gen 4Runner
Adam 1st gen 4Runner
Vortex is one of the louder ones.

flow time
on my 88 i got a single in single out flowmaster with a nice tip and deep rumble sound. that's what i would suggest. my sister has one on her 92 and my dad will put one on his 95. It's the best i've ever heard. and for your question there are many people who have put duals on their runners of a generations. mostly borla set ups though but some flowmaster too. and if you're doing it not just for looks then you could get a single in dual out in one muffler and exit them both out of one side of your rig.

I'm not looking for anything super load...just a nice deep tone when accelerating but quieter at cruising speeds.
I like the sound of the Flowmasters...which one is the best for a Runner? Can someone give me a part number so I can see how much it's gonna cost me? I appreciate it guys! Thx. again!

go to
got mine at meineke. just tell them you want a flowmaster exhaust with the standard tip. it's a good size chrome tip. my set up for my 88 with a single in adn single out was 210 and my sis's 92 was the same way and you can get dual out of one muffler for about 250 i think that's the price they said. So i know it can be done. but i'm very pleased with the sound of mine and been told it's a very nice sound also. Just go there and all will be taken care of in a matter of and hour or so.
