driving tips for a new detroit owner
ok just dropped off my rig to have 4.88s and the rear detroit put in. everyone says "you'll like it, it just takes a little getting used to". so what am i in for a little bucking and chirping when cornering on the gas. any tips or anything you learned the hard way i'd like to hear about thanks.

Mikey--driving with a detroit is nothing special. You will notice it most in tight spaces like parking lots. You have a stick so I am not sure how much different yours will be on the street. When it engages it feels a little like a slipping transmission when it finally catches.
Did Steve do the install for you??

I'm running the same in my 4runner, and it really doesn't take that much getting used to. What does take alittle getting used to is everyone looking at you like you just broke your truck when it catches as you leave the gas station. It makes a horrendous noise, but don't worry, all is well. There's a reason they don't have lockers on most vehicles, and that's because most people could never be convinced that their vehicle should make that kind of noise. Seriously, the only driving modifications you have to make is when you drive around corners, and the benefit that you will receive offroad will far surpass any driving modifications you will have to make, have and enjoy, I know I sure do!
