Driveshaft Question, will a 2nd gen fit a 3rd?
I have a 3rd gen 4Runner and my center bearing went out. It is about $110 to fix even though toyota doesn't say it is serviceable. The 3 u-joints are $50 each. So the total for my fix will be around $260
So I can buy a 1 peice custom drive shaft for that price with easy to service spicer joints, or try to fit a shaft from a 2nd gen 4Runner with no double cardan joints.
My question is about the output flange on the T-case. Is it the same in both trucks? The differential side is definently the same. Also I run no sway bar and OME coils so would it have similar length splines?
Thanks.

The output flange is different, the 3rd gen is larger . Also the 2nd gen shaft is a little shorter (1"?) . The flanges will interchange ,if you want to use a 2nd gen flange . I went the other way 3rd gen double carden on a 2nd gen. IMO I would fix your double carden joint for $110 .
