driveshaft leak

i just drained and filled the transfer case on my 00 4runner. Capacity is 1.2 quarts i beleive and a fraction of that came out. so i topped it off and took it for a drive. now i have oil pumping out of the seal where the drive shaft connects to the transfer case. Questions: what seal is that? will it pump out ALL of the fluid i just put in? and would it be covered in the drivetrain portion of the warranty?

Was the truck sitting on a hill with the nose pointing down? That would allow you to possibly add too much. When I did mine at about 40,000 miles, I filled it until it started dribbling out and called it done. Its been fine and I'm at 73,000 now. Could you be confusing the 75W oil with the sticky srayed-on stuff that is all over my transfer case?

i had the truck pretty even- ramps under all 4's on a level surface. It puked out quite a bit initially after the first drive, and it was infact coming from that seal as mentioned earlier.
