Finally installed my Downey springs today since it was a nice sunny day. The install went really well. We raised the rear off the towing bar and undid the bottom of the shocks, sway bar, and panhard bar. We didnt even have to take the tires off. The old springs pretty much just fell right out. Put in the new springs and buttoned everything back up. Took about 2 hours including setup time and 1 busted knuckle . Heres a few pics (dirty from the snow)

Looks great. How's the ride now? Where did you get them from? Looking to do the same real soon.

To me I think the ride feels like it should. Its not bouncy/julting, and it seemed very smooth on pavement. Ive still got stock shocks back there so Im sure it will firm up when I stick on some new ones. Im very happy with them. I bought them used from a guy on the 4x4wire forum.

I'm sure you will find after a few days of driving with new coils back there how you ever did without them.

Just wait until you get new shocks, that will also make a big difference.

Your truck sits pretty high in the back now. What are your wheel to fender measurements now? Corey has his front up to 14.5" and since mine already is that high in the front I figured the Downey coils will be a perfect lift for me.

not to mention I need to replace my brakes soon... they're starting to squeek

Hey L33, if i remember right you wanted to get rid of your sag w/o lifting right? The springs I pulled out looked brand new and I think thats why my truck didnt sag very much. The paint was still shiny on them. If you want them, lemme know. They are in the forsale forum.

96 Looking good! Pretty amazing the difference they make isn't it. I really notice it when I am putting something in the back now the tailgate is way higher. I am very happy with my ride with the Downeys not harsh at all. Only time I think they are harsh is when I go over a massive speed bump the back doesn't move much.

i ve thought about coil springs on my t-100 , but i wanna give it a 4 inch lift too , do they make an application for lifted vehicles too , and does downey make them for the t-100 application .? would it be agood idea to do it front and rear ? and while im on the subject has anyone seen a site that has the beefed up torsions bars for a t-100 ?

Thanks Joey, how did you like your poly swaybar bushings? When I took mine off they were kinda brittle. I was thinking of looking into it.

Little less body roll going into corners. Nothing impressive but there is a noticeable difference.

Will his old springs sag? Of course they will - just like your stock ones did. But you may get away with a couple of years of not needing to do the aftermarket springs as long as you don't load the back down with a lot of stuff. Like I mentioned before - his rig is almost level with the stock springs in the rear. Mine is sitting about 1.5 inches lower than his was right now so I'll go aftermarket since obviously my use is too much for the stock springs.
