Question Downey Intake/Resonator Question

I just got my Downey intake in. I was looking at the installation instructions, and says to reuse the resonator box that the EGR hose goes through. The problem is, my resonator was destroyed when my fan grenaded. If I don't use the resonator will it actually cause any problems, or will I just have a louder than usual intake?

Thanks,

Nak

Sorry about the year/make/model. I added it to my signature, right after that post. It's a 88 4Runner, V6. I'd just get a resonator at the local wrecking yard, but nobody has one. The dealership want's $28 for one, so if I can get away without one, I won't bother.

Thanks,

Nak

Some people remove their resonators for the heck of it around here.
