down side to 1 speed Taurus Fan?

I searched and searched but couldn't find any real info on the 1 speed Taurus fan other than every one says GET THE 2 SPEED.

Well, after going through all (30) tauruses at my local bone yard all I could find were the 1 speed kind.

Seeing as how my OEM fan blew up wrecking all kinds of havoc I'm going to throw this $15.00 fan in until I can find the 2 speed.

What's the downside to the 1 speed? Also, it's 5.5" deep. Will it fit? I've already removed the fan clutch.

The only good one speed I found came out of an SHO Taurus. It's thin and it blows enough air to cool a V-8! I like it my gauge never reads more than 1/4 of the scale and I used to over heat like crazy with my old Flexalite!

Did you get it to fit? My 2 speed, flat motor fan has about 1/8" clearance so your much bigger fan motor will be pretty hard to fit without moving things around.

Isn't 30 amps a lot for the stock alternator?

A stock alternator made after 1984 produces 60 amp's. Early models produce around 40 amp's.

ya know--- you could get an AC fan from an 88mr2 with air conditioning, those dual fans fit in front of the radiator without any mods and blow more air than a tore-ass fan while drawing less amps and being quieter. Thats what i have on my truck-- its a toyota part, so im more confident that its not going to die.

Yep, you're right, it's to big to fit easily and 30 amps is more than I want it to draw.
I might try and find a MR2 fan if i can't find a 3.8.
