Double Din to Din stereo install??

I'm getting ready to get a new stereo for my truck...I'm torn between the Sony Xplod CDX-GT920U and the new Eclipse 3200. Any comparisons of the two from someone a little more electronically inclined would be greatly appreciated!!

Anyhow, I will need a kit to switch my Double Din to a Single Din with the extra space being used for storage. Like a slot underneath my stereo.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which kit I should purchase??

Thanks!!

I know Crutchfield includes this kit as well as the wiring harness for free with most stereo purchases. Check 'em out. crutchfield.com

i think you just need to find a single din truck at a wrecking yard, they have the brackets for a single din radio and the little compartment for storage

like this?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...spagenameZWDVW

Sony is not a big hit in car audio. Alpine, pioneer, and kenwood are the more popular brands.

Youll need to buy a din pocket. they can be had on ebay for rather cheap, or they come with the HU if you buy from crutch field.

I'm big on the mechanical faceplates....that's why I like the Sony. Plus it's at Wally World for $190.00, which is about 50 bucks off.

Are there any other good stereos around 200 bucks that have mechanical faces?

I know the Eclipse does but it's more expensive isn't it?

Oh...and this head unit is only going to power my speakers. I'm not putting a system in or anything. Just in case that makes a difference.

Thanks!

All headunits will give you nearly the same wattage output, and I say go with what you like, fuhk what is popular.

Yeah...I just can't find anything in the 200 dollar range that competes with this Sony. I'm going to pick it up next week sometime.

I think Kenwood gives you the best bang for the buck these days for sure. I have 2 HUs and they have worked great as compared to some higher priced brandds - that I am sure work great - but at a higher price.

Eclipse makes a very nice head unit and the button colors can be changed to green to match the other 4runner lights.
