? on door panel removal
I have a '96 3rd gen. 4Runner. I ordered a new head unit & will be replacing the speakers soon. I've searched & can't find a write up on removing the door panels even though I know there must be one here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Paul

Its pretty straightfoward. There are two plastic "popout" pins to remove carefully, one toward the front of the door and one toward the back around the corner. Consequently I've broken all of mine over the years. Pop off the armrest and there are one or two screws underneath it to remove (Can't recall exactly). Remove the screw on the trim piece at the door latch handle and slide it sideways to remove. Then take a flatblade screwdriver, start at the bottom and work your way around the door to pop off the retaining plugs. Pop the panel upward to release it at the top window edge.
