Don't you just the 'yota?!
I don't know if anyone else has had the problem, I am sure they are out there. I bought my taco a year ago and started to hear a whin noise from the tranny/ clutch. I thought throw out bearing, no big deal. My truck has 56,000 miles and the warranty is 60,000. Took it to them and in an hour they were like 'we have a tranny on order, it'll be here tomorrow" yay. So they broke off a bolt in the starter dropping the tranny, and they also replaced the starter! So at 56,000 miles I have a new tranny and starter. I was wondering because my brother has a 2000 trd v6 and mine is the 2.7 but both of our trannies have been replaced for similiar reasons. Factory backing is great, but why the tranny issues?

The same thing happened to my Taco, Supposedly (no words officially from Toyota that i have seen) is some of the gears got incorrectly cut and cause a whine after wear in. The dealer replaced the trans on my truck as well.
