OK--> doing my Clutch this weekend and heres what i have so far

--New Downey Clutch/Pressure plate
--New Flywheel (they all seem to be made in China--hard to get a good quality one)
--Alingment tool
--throw-out bearing,
--Small bearing that goes in the Flywheel (forgot the name)
--Oils
--Front Input Shaft Seal for Tranny
--Rear Main Seal
--Getting a trans jack
--Pizza Delivery Number and Beer

Am i forgetting anything? Do i need new exhaust gaskets?

sounds good to me couldint hurt to change the exhaust gasket

Why a new flywheel? Why not just re-surface the old one?

Because i only have one vehicle right now and dont want to have to leave home and get the flywheel done and then come back.....Besides from what i here it costs about $50-60 to get it done--why not just get a new one. Cant wait to have a normal clutch again soon though !!!!

Cost me 20 bucks and they did it in less than an hour... Worth it to keep the stock one in IMO for the same reason you said, its hard to find a quality aftermarket for ours.

it's called a pilot bearing, it took me and 1 other 7 hrs to do mine on my 98 taco. not a horrible job, mine was little tough to realign

rent a pilot bearing puller...Will cost like 10 bucks for a day, and will save you hours.

I agree, but good luck finding one small enough. I have always had to do the bolt and grease trick. I have replaced my clutch twice.

Also, there's no need to mess with the exhaust.

Where did you get your replacement flywheel?

i got the fly wheel from O'Reily's. Well i guess all i need to do now is get the bearing puller and the trans jack and i am off to the races. THanks for the input.

Not a great idea for an SUV. Have you driven a car with a lightened flywheel?

yep you said oils and i hope you mean tranny and transfer fluid. Its alot easier to change the fluid in the tranny and transfer case whe nthey are out. And dont even consider getting a lightened flywheel. As far as i know you arnet makign a drift car....
