Disc brake dust shield replacement

Had an incident where my wheel came off and the brake dust shield is completely bent and damaged on the bottom half. I don't remember off the top of my head if the shield is something readily accessible, or does the hub need to be disassembled to get to it on the 3rd gens...

Has anyone replaced the dust shield? and is it much more work than just removing calipers and rotors and popping it off?

Any part numbers?

Thanks!

How do you get to them? I'm trying to plan for my repair to break everything down and replace them. I can't see how to get to the dust shield with my rotor and caliper still on (gotta leave town for the week, no time to take things apart right now). Is it pretty simple or does it involve taking a bunch of stuff apart in addition to removing the rotor and caliper?

Love your red calipers haha

Personally, I disassembled the whole thing because I had to replace not only the brakes and remove the dust shield, but I did new ball joints and removed the lower control arms to straighten the frame tabs which got bent offroad (being stupid). You've got to get all out of the way so you can reach the bolts for the dust shield. It should be pretty straightforward when you get down there and it's all apart

I tried to remove mine when I replaced my ball joints but found that the hub had to be removed (I think). It would have helped me getting that part in my bench vise to remove the upper ball joint. I can't remember the details but at the time I was unable to remove the dust shield. Hope this helps.
