I didn't take the time to read anything except for the very first post. If your diff breather is leaking out gear oil than it was over filled. There is a plug in your front IFS similar to the plug in your rear diff that you can take off to fill your diff. Take both of those plugs out and and if fluid drains out than that's alright just let it drain until it stops. Your diffs should only be filled up to those plugs no higher other wise it comes out of the breather. Hope that made since.
on my truck (2003) , if you fill the front diff up to the hole, you've overfilled it.
when it's full, it's well below the fill hole.
to be sure, drain the front diff and replace the oil with the exact ammount the manual calls for.

Well I just noticed today that there was some oily fluid on my steering rack and upon further inspection I too have found that my front diff breather tube is all oily and nasty, so it aparently spit up here recently. I have searched the threads on this subject. From what I have read it may be possible that they were slightly over filled when I had the fluid changed a couple of months ago? Because of pressure and weather this winter they just spit up a little and everything is o.k.
Long story short....It is no big deal if they spit up oil and I should just keep an eye on it?....any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
