"After receiving numerous upgrades last year, including a redesigned front fascia and a new 4WD system for the Limited grade, Toyota's popular 4Runner SUV enters the 2000 model year relatively unchanged." (Quote from top4runners.com)

Thanks for the help guys. I'm debating either getting a 99 or 00 limited. The more I search, the more it sounds like the big difference was the year in which they were made in. Thanks again!

Gotta be optimistic if I don't want to die of insanity.
Most Toyotas are produced that way.

I've had both:
DRL's are the biggest thing for me between the two, and i didn't have ABS on my 99. These are the two things that bother me most on the 00, but they can be fixed with a few mods.
Suspension wise - if you are keeping it stock, they say the 99's are an inch taller as previously said if you find one with the 'tall' springs, but if you're planning to add a suspension lift, this is irrelevant. I had my 00 springs for a total of 2 days after buying it.
You really cant go wrong between the two in the big picture

Agree, if by most you mean about 7 months out of 12. I base this on
1) The 2000's came in to the showrooms in NJ in August of 1999.
2) Based on my one-car sample, arrival at dealer (6/99) took 3 months from production date (3/99). I bought mine literally off the truck, I wanted a 5-speed bad.
So I figure they switched the line around the end of May. Down time was probably minimal due to only minor changes and, after all, this was Toyota we are talking about.
