diff and transfer case fluid
ok guys..i am going to change these oils. i did some seaching and i came up with this:
Transfer case: 0.8qts tranny fluid
Front diff: 2.0qts SAE75W-90
Rear diff: 2.3qts SAE90
i was wondering if there were any tips or advice i could use. i know to pull the fill plug first. also what size are the bolts, i know they are rather large..54mm? can i use something to losen the bolts up if i need to?

Spray everything with PB Blaster and let it sit over night if you can. Drive in four wheel first to get the fluid warm so the old will flow out. I talked to a Toyota tech about transfer case... "fill it till its just running out of the fill hole then wait until it stops before you put in the fill plug." This is with the truck level.
All the bolt head on my truck take a 24mm socket, get a six sided one for a half in drive and an 18" breaker bar
good luck

I thought the front diff is always turning in an ADD setup like ours (edit: unless you have manual or automatic hubs).
I'd hate to see the size of a diff with a 54mm drain plug , that's a little over 2 inches in diameter!
Either get a pump or do what I did in this post. Otherwise there's no way to get the oil into the diff housing.
Good luck,
steve
