Cool Did I miss something?

Where did the huge SMT-6 thread go?
Looked back and didn't see it... Searched and didn't find it via any means.

It wasn't lost was it!?

It's been removed by request. The details are outside the scope of the forum. It's just something that happened.

In hindsight, it was getting pretty long in the tooth, and trying to digest information from it was really becoming a hassle.

We should probably kick off a new one and post up what we know these days versus the months of messing around.

For example... In the last week(ish), I've learned a LOT about resetting and clearing the boxes.

Cool

Practically the entire thread.

I'm completely re-doing my install so I can drop it on the car world @ Toyota Nation. My problem was always the ignition tuning.

I had a few varriations of things I wanted to try. And if worse comes to worse I wanted to try and see if it would advance/retard the G1 and G2 signals (for piston 1 10*btdc and piston 6 10*btdc) using the dual timing signal advance. Since the SMT seems to be more ept at 4 tooth. (Toyota technition buddy gave me that idea to try after he played with my unit in his 400fwhp AWD Celica)

Anyways...
3vz-fe OBD-1 5vz-fe OBD-II.
Half the ignition info yall had is useful to me, and half the info was not. It's just something I need to pick through myself.
Basically I need everything about ignition tuning and wiring in the thread.

If you want to just post everything you know about ignition that might help me too...
All unused wires grounded.
Yellow NE wire in, Pink-bipolar out.

That's all I remember hahahaha I remember using it in the mode 20 for the longest time and it would run fine, but give a hiccup *every* time at some wierd rpm between 4-5k.
Without the relay on mode 1 using 36 teeth per turn 12 teeth per firing(i think) the ignition would start the car. At normal idle (under 800rpm) the car would instantly die 50% of the time (but you could catch it) It would randomly die at different rpm points(in any throttle condition), but you could catch it if you nailed the gas quick enough.

I don't remember why.

Looking at the software real quick I jsut remembered something I always wondered... What did you guys use for the engine dwell time??? Not having an O-scope (except borrowed from a hospital/neighboor I worked at during aprt of that time) I never figured out what it should have been set to.

Okay, so basically you need the wiring diagrams and software setup for a box...

SMT -5 or -6? What's the year/make of the rig (the ECU wiring is different)?

If you're running a -5, then I'm pretty sure I can help your hiccup. PP's given me the "okie dokie" to discuss some of the stuff I found in _really_ clearing out the unit. I don't know if it will be the same with the -6.

Given how this thread is titled, I don't think it's going to attract a lot of attention. I'd suggest starting a new thread and we can work through what you need.

SMT-6, and I don't run a truck. 3vz-fe in an ES 300, which explains why half the data doesn't amtter to me.
