I presume you're talking about the Detroit Electrac... Was that for the 8" rear or the 7.5" front?

Yeah, could you post the e-mail? I talked to a guy about this and he said the biggest problem with the toyota 8" is how the 3rd member is shaped.

an e-locker is an electrically locking differential. when it is disengaged, the differential works as either a limited slip or open, but when it is engaged, both wheels will be locked and turn at the same rate. there are air compressed locking diffs, auto lockers, and spools, which are and all time locker

basically, when you have a 4wd vehicle with open diffs, only 2 wheels will have power at any given time. an open differential transfers power to the wheel that slips, so it can get you stuck if you get a wheel off the ground etc. with a locker, both wheels will turn at the same rate, so you won't end up with one wheel spinning and the other(with traction) stopped dead

E-Locker

I would be very interested in pricing and a technical write up on this. Anyone got a link?

There Reply:
We appreciate your interest in our products.
Next year we start building the Electrac for Toyota applications. All
units
will have internal activation so the installation will be similar to
any
other differential install.
Pricing has not be set at this time.

Sorry I couldn't give you more precise information.

SWEET! Forget the ARB Electrac here I come!

Seirously though, I e-mailed them right when that was coming out, but I got no reply. It's cool to see that they are going to be doing that though.
