Deckplate Modification

I apologize if this topic has been beat to death, but I have some questions about the modification. First, has anyone done it on their 2.7 litre engine, and if so, did it make a noticable difference. Second, which is better: removing the elbow or drilling in a hole and adding the mesh? Third, has anyone had any problems with water or other debri getting into the intake system? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

The deckplate mod won't work well on the 2.7. Just pull the elbow as mentioned. Be conscious of stream crossings, etc. and you'll be fine. Don't submerge the top of the tire(s) and you shouldn't have any issues.
