Yeah she was like not paying attention and rearend ed me denting in the drivers side part of the bumper. Any ideas on how much a new one will cost. I have to speak to daddy warbucks tomorrow. She gave me $200 as a down payment cuz she was afraid to go thru her insurance. I want to give her dad a round about estimate.

At least she was sorry that she did it. The last time I was in a fenderbender, some old fart came flying up in his dodge neon which plowed into a subcompact behind me, which in turn was impaled upon my class 3 hitch and I was forced into a fed ex truck (minimally) He was all bitchy cuz we all had stopped - for a red light too boot. I was about ready to rearrange his face......thankfully he was venting at the cops and tow truck operator and not me or the dude in the subcompact.
Glad you and she are ok, the above wreck I'm describing sent the subcompact owner to the hospital....

So here's what to do... Buy a used standard painted one, I'll trade you for my perfect chrome one, stratght up swapping shipping charges and pocket the remainder of the cash... I'm on a quest for monochrome.
I think that a new chrome one complete runs about $700 with all the brackets and junk. Try a Google search for Toyota bumper.

The 3rd gen rear bumper is 3 piece. I backed up ino a light pole :pat: and crunched my middle section. It was under 200 bucks just for the middle, I believe the corner 'wraps' are less and can be bought/replaced separately. It's an easy DIYS fix, just gotta pop off the plastic top cap and undo a few bolts...under an hour job. Call your dealership for a price on the piece you need, add you costs for your time and labor if you wanna DIYS or have the dealeship quote ya. Good luck.

I had the same thing happen to me except that it was a guy. He wanted to avoid the insurance until he found out that the damage was about $900. The chrome bumper, grill, and valance had to be replaced. His insurance ended up paying for it. Moral of the story, take it to a body shop and get an estimate. They can tell if there was any other damage that you don't see.

Mike's bumper is just fine. His truck would look alot better with a factory black bumper.
FYI- My chrome rear bumper with all the brackets, etc sold for $350 on eBay. So a used one with a minor off road dent brought in $350.
EDIT- Sorry that was the front bumper that went for $350. The rear I only got $100 for. Parts are not that expensive.

Accidents happen and you said she was sorry. If I were you I'd charge her accordingly. If all you need is the driver's side corner, then charge her for that piece plus a little labor. I guess I am just honest, but that's what I would do.
