Thanks..My finance had a blast! She is a trooper! We didn't get there till 2am on Saturday morning and not one complaint!

This rig is my every day wheeler and I will beat the piss out of it wherever I go. Pismo, Bald Mtn, Hollister hills, etc. I need to do something about the front suspension. I'm thinking King Coil Overs because I jump my rigs pretty hard going over dunes and stuff. But, yeah, I wouldn't have been able to do 75 miles per hour over Pacheco Pass w/ the camper without the current suspension set up..

Here are some older pics:

You must be referring to this one: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b8...n/Image029.jpg

Yeah, that is taken on top of Bald Mtn. overlooking Shaver lake. I can't wait to get up there with the current set up. All though I had no problems getting to the top (or Brewer's lake for that matter) with the stock suspension. Just had some minor scrapes on the skid plates..

Sweet setup. I've looked around for a simple, lightweight slide-in camper that my little '86 could haul, but I couldn't find one I liked. I'd love to have a little camper like that. Oh well...

All preventive maintenance.
My current uses super shocks are they are shot and don't even limit out the limiting straps. Hopefully the next front set-up will utilize the limiting straps and serve a purpose. If they keep the front axles from breaking and shocks from blowing, I'm good. They are Beard 18" from my rear 96 runner that I recycled..

Gotcha... I don't think they are very necessary up front unless your running a large top plate spacer or an extended hoe, but why run the extended hoes if you limit them .. Shocks are generally the limit on the fronts, and I haven't heard of too many blowing them out from drooping, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen....

What does that camper weigh? You sit nice and level with it in. Does it give you much rake with it out?

Camper weighs about 1100 pounds w/ 16 gal water and 5 gal propane. More with all the gear and coolers. As far as Rake, it rides fine. The headlights aim up a bit, but I just need to find a setting that I can go back to every time I put the camper on.

Have you thought about airbags? The ride is GREAT, mine dont limit travel, headlights and brakes stay where they should, and they are adjustable.

Yeah, I thought about airbags, especially if I plan on towing an aluminum boat behind. Not sure what brand though.

I was actually thinking about a rear sway bar too. Have many Tacoma owners done the rear sway bar? The old trucks had them and the ride was supposedly much smoother without as much roll.

I have the firestone bags and they are great. Super HD, more than needed, but I wanted durable since I do a ton of dirt road driving. I had them at 43psi this weekend and they rode so nice, couldnt even tell I had all the weight and trailer.

As far as swaybars I havent ever seen any, the airbags will help this thou. I know the rear swaybar on my 95 runner didnt do squat, it was way too small. I have never seen one on an older P/U, my 91 nor 92 had one.

Also, have you done or thought about the frame braces for your taco? Cant remember what years need them, but cbioffoad makes a killer set. I would look into those with all that camper weight. if you do airbags I would do them first then add the brace so you can trim the brace around the bag mount.

http://www.cbioffroadfab.com/index.php here?

I can't seem to find any info on frame braces either here nor there.

Yeah, I think I'll try the bags before anything. I did bottom out a couple times, but I was pushing it.. lol

Yes, click images, then go to early tacoma rear bumpers, they are in there.

Steve is here in Idaho, and I have never heard one bad thing about him. The folks at TTORA.com LOVE his work. I will be at his shop monday for a custom front receiver and winch basket.

Yup! I'm a moderator over at the motorcycle forum www.600rr.net I haven't been riding (besides daily commuting while the camper is on the truck) as much because I have been getting into camping and stuff. Right now I am looking at a boat to tow behind this whole setup. I'm thinking of a Alumaweld 17' Talon like this:

Am I going to need a supercharger? lol

As far as the tire carrier, I think AH64ID was only recommending the frame braces for the additional weight I am carrying. Something about the Tacoma's being weak in the frame. I know the old truck frames are stronger, for instance they had the 1 ton models.

Anyone? Do you guys think I can pull it off w/ the cab over camper? Not sure how much the boat weighs w/ trailer, but right now I can do 60 miles per hour in 3rg gear going up steep grades w/ the camper on. I'm thinking the boat will slow it down another 10-20 miles per hour.

I would try it for a trip or two and see... 60mph isnt too bad.... Regearing wont help too much as it still wont allow you to use 4th probably, and will make you slower at 4.5K in 3rd.

A supercharger would give you a bunch more usable power, but since you will be using it with tremendous loud it would require some other serious upgrades to fuel, and cooling, at least you have a 5spd ... It would probably be a $$ endevour, but make the truck night and day difference

You will certainly want airbags if you add any tongue weight..

Sounds like a plan....

Here are some recent pictures after a wash and wax job. The truck sits a little high in the rear, but as you can see with the camper it levels right out!

I'm now looking into a supercharger. I understand that I will need additional parts to make it run right? Is there a low budget supercharger route?

"Low budget" and "supercharger" dont go together heh. Save the money, do it right the first time, or pay $$$ to replace your engine when it blows prematurely.
