hey lee!

i may have to get you to order me up a couple, that price is killer! i have relatives in the boston area so a road trip to p/u the cv shafts would do double duty.

I am paying $65 with a core charge of course.... that was for the drivers side, I'm not sure if they are priced identically...

they are the same, talked with the stealer the other day. i broke the pass side outer joint wheeling last weekend and have been scouting around for replacemens. ill be rebuilding the drivers side as a trail spare and replacing both shafts. going to be a bit of work involved as im planning on swapping out the bushings for bearings at the same time.

what brand of shafts are they? thats a pretty good price and michigan is a lot closer than boston! sorry lee!

Try www.rockauto.com for your automotive needs.

I think that a CV from them is like $60 or less.

For your older ifs the boot kit from toyota (trdparts4u.com) is about $25 and it will fix both boots. I'd assume the price for the 3rd gens is about the same.

Don't think it's likely you can get a CV axles with a greater working angle, unless maybe some hardcore racing part. There's a limit to what the design can take (look how far they flex when you turn all the way.)

I bought lifetime replacements (axles with boots already lubed and ready to bolt in) at Carquest for $66 each. The lifetime replacement even covers just the boots.

Well thats a pretty good deal if they cover the boot too. I will have to look at carquest. 66 aint bad. already packed with grease too, thats nice.

When I picked them up we took them out of the boxes and put my old ones in the same boxes - the guy actually said "even if you tear a boot." I thought that was a pretty good deal.

so I stopped by Carquest this afternoon. they wated roughly $125 for the axle. With a core of about the same. So I would have spent about 250!!!! without the core. thats way too much.
