CV boot kit - which grease to use?
I recently had the outer cv boots replaced with a Toyota CV boot kit. The box came with two grease packs, a white one and a yellow one. Which one should be used and where?
Does each one have a specific use? The box didn't come with instructions.
What the mechanic did was mix the two and applied the mixture. Was this correct?
Appreciate any help. Thanks.

I would not mix the two grease together. If you need to, call the place you bought them from and ask which to use and where. Also, see if the manufacture has a website you can reference.
I purchased the entire axel when my boot failed. I just R&R and did not have to mess with the rebuilding of the CV boot. It was fairly easy. It is great to have a second person to help though. g/l

Yellow goes in black goes out. They shouldve put the intructions in there but they are a different grade or something so make sure they go in the right places.

I dont know how it is on the cv joints but I think needle type bearings need a thinner grease? It might be the other way around but the ball bearings use which ever is opposite to the needle bearing.
