Angry Curiosity killed the freaken window

I was replacing a bunch of bulbs in my switches and took out the drivers-side window switch piece. I am a curious person so I decided to open the housing that holds all the switches. :pat: :pat:

Got it all back together and now the auto-window switchis really stiff, sticks in the postion that you leave it in. I tried placing the little "L" shaped spring underneath the auto switch every way I thought conceivable. At least I have some control over the window now.

Does anyone have pics (haha) or any ideas on how to repair. I will be calling todd to get the price of a new one.

On a minor side note the childrens safety lock doesn't work either. Am I just looking at a new box or what?

Please me. Thanks.

You could try some WD40 to losen it up a bit (not conductive).
Sounds like something did not go back together correctly.
Why don't you post some pics so we can see the inside and help you out.

Also try the boneyards for that part...should be much cheaper.

It's hard to explain how to do it, but I've taken the switches apart and haven't had any problems putting them back together.

You live about an hour and a half away from me, but this weekend I'll going on a little outing. Next weekend I have 4 days off for the holidays and should be around the whole time. Let me know if you need some assistance.

I think the problem with the auto-window buttom seems to be with a piece that is not incorporated back into the connection and not so much a WD40 problem. It does have a stiffness like that might be the answer though. At this point I am looking into Lucky Charms as the fixer. I will definitely be ripping that lil bastard outta there and disecting it a couple more times and may even do a write up if all goes well.

You know, for all the future inquisitive morons that like to see how thinks work At $250, I cold feasably work on that thing for like 8 hours and still make it worth it. Maybe I can mod it so that I can control my stereo and a/c heater controls and dome light and. . . .

Bruce, thanks for extending your assistance. If I roll down to my parents house (Dana Point) for a few days I will emil you in advance if this thing isn't sorted out so we could possibly meet up.

Anymore ideas I am all ears. Thanks and I will keep it posted.
