What items/ Systems can I remove from under my Hood?

I'm looking at "cleaning up" under the hood and also trying to improve the mileage.

Yeah, definitely go with an electric fan set-up for starters. Then focus on the intake. That should help.

I would remove that pesky 3.0. You will get better mileage from the weight loss, it will run quiter and you won't have to worry about maintaining it That will "clean up" under the hood nicely too...

lol...I believe it will run about as good as a snail too, that has just disentigrated.

Dude you forgot the cutout in the floor board...

but hey, you've improved gas mileage since it's now a 1 man-power rig...that's some serious gas mileage pickup there...I'd hate to see emissions though, especially if you feed the engine some bad...uuh gas

Its a good thing that when all of us go offroad we make sure that we are always on the trail, When we cross water we make sure as to not mess with the breeding grounds of the trout.

Grams 72, if you spend some time reading up on this forum and a couple of others, you will have more answers than you care to catalog. Even some good ones too... But I'll give you the short version: Not much. There isn't much you can remove that won't affect your engine for the worse. There are some pretty good mods, and all together you can net a bit more power and better driveability while sacrificing no reliability, but when you start removing all that crap under the hood you change things that engine was designed to have in place, in working order, and it will very likely not run right, nor will it run for years and years trouble free. The emissions equipment is not costing you mileage, by the way. To get more mileage (more than a percent or two) you have to design a more effecient engine, plain and simple. Sure there are some exceptions, but that's the thumbnail version. Make a bit more power though, get it to breathe better, and drive conserviatively, and you might net more mpg.

A much better question would have been, "What can I do to make my engine run better and get more mileage?"
